One of the most commonly asked questions is, "How do you pronounce Zubaz and where did it come from?" Well, the word Zubaz is derived from a street slang term from the 70s: "zooba", which meant "in your face." The wild prints and patterns that were the Zubaz look were definitely "in your face." Zubaz are one of those words that are both singular and plural at the same time. Everybody always asks what the proper pronunciation is. Well, the phonetic definition is "zoo-buzz," although any variety or variation of that is fine.

The largest pair of Zubaz ever made were worn by the Miami Heat Mascot nicknamed "Burnie." The tallest pair of Zubaz ever made were sewn for a guy named George Bell who was over 7' 4" tall. The smallest pair of Zubaz ever made were produced for the Jesse Ventura Action Figure doll and had an inseam of 5 inches.

Although Zubaz are now commonly made with the original 50/50 poly/cotton jersey fabric, there have been many variations of fabrics used throughout the years including fleece, flannel, nylon, mesh, wovens, and Lycra. Zubaz licensed many companies to do products ranging from jackets and caps to bags and shoes. Back in the day, the Arena Football League even had entire uniforms that were "Zubatized" and striped from head to toe.

If all the Zubaz that were ever made were laid out end to end, they would stretch from New York to Los Angeles... and back again. Of course the thought of all that zebra stripe and neon is a little mind-boggling, not to mention scary...

Is the item that I want to purchase currently in stock?

If an item is out of stock or discontinued, the product page that displays the product image and price will state that the item is out of stock. If the item is on backorder the site will show an estimated ship date. All other items should be considered in stock.

This information listed on our online catalog is the most up to date information that we have in regards to an item's in-stock availability.

Due to the very large selection of products that we carry it is impossible to guarantee 100% availability of all the merchandise that we sell. If an item that you've ordered is out of stock or backordered you will be notified by email promptly.

If I place an order, how quickly will it arrive?

Total delivery time is equal to handling time plus time for the chosen shipping method.

Handling
Handling time is the time needed to select and package your item for pick up by the carrier (i.e. FedEx, UPS, or USPS). A long handling time generally indicates that an item will need to be manufactured prior to delivery.

For the most up to date information about how quickly an item can be shipped to you, check the product page that displays the product image, price and detailed description. Below the product description you will see an estimated handling time required for the item.

Shipping
Although FedEx is our main shipping carrier, some items are delivered through others, such as UPS or the US Postal Service, using the fastest and most affordable option available. FedEx express services (which include 3-day, 2-day and overnight) are available on some products only. For next day delivery, the item must qualify for next day delivery according the item page, and be ordered before 5pm ET. Please note: Choosing a faster shipping method does not eliminate the handling time.  The following are guidelines to use for shipping methods:

Sales Tax

Sales tax is not charged on orders that are shipping to addresses outside of the states of Illinois or Florida. If you are shipping Zubaz merchandise to an address within Illinois or Florida, you will be charged the current Illinois sales tax rate for Cook County and/or the current Florida sales tax rate for Duval County.

Redeeming a coupon

Occasionally Zubaz will run promotions and distribute coupons to its patrons via email. If you have received a coupon and you would like to redeem it, add the items that you'd like to purchase to your cart and then begin the checkout process. Enter the coupon code on bottom of the billing page where your payment information is captured. The resulting discount will be applied and displayed on the final order review page before your order is placed.

For oversized items, the shipping costs are primarily dependent upon the size and weight of the item, the shipping method (Standard, Priority or Overnight), the quantity purchased and the ship to location.

To determine what the shipping costs are for an order containing oversized items, add the items that you'd like to purchase to the cart. On the cart page, the shipping and handling costs for standard delivery are listed (for delivery within the United States). To determine what the shipping costs are for Priority or Overnight shipping, begin the checkout process. After you enter in the desired billing and shipping address you will be presented with shipping options that show the exact shipping price for standard, priority and overnight delivery (when overnight shipping is available).

Shipping policies and restrictions

Zubaz can only accept orders that are shipping to one of the following: United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada. However, do note that there are certain products that can only ship within the Continental U.S. and cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes or military addresses. Please read the product descriptions carefully to be sure the item(s) you are ordering are able to be shipped to the desired location.

Any international duties, taxes, and brokerage fees are not included and are the responsibility of the customer. If you have any questions about duties or custom charges please contact your local post office.

Return policy

Easy 60-Day Returns

We're committed to your total satisfaction. If, for any reason, you're not completely happy with your purchase, you can get a full refund of the product price and any associated tax, within sixty (60) days of receipt of the item(s).

To return an item you don't even need to contact us first!  Simply return the item via a trackable method to:

To exchange an item, please call or E-mail us, so we can set up the exchange and verify the availability of your new item.

Be sure to either include your packing slip or write your order number on the outside of the package to ensure a prompt credit!

To receive either a credit toward an exchange or a credit on your charge account, please note that all returns and exchanges must be in new, unused or unworn condition with the original tags and stickers attached. Items deemed worn, used, dirty or missing tags will be returned to purchaser at their expense and no refund will be issued. Swimwear, Underwear, Customized and personalized items are not returnable. Since lost return shipments are the responsibility of the customer, be sure to obtain a tracking number from the courier for the return shipment.

Where do I find Kids' drawstring garments?

For safety purposes, we do not sell children's garments that contain drawstrings at the hood or neck. This policy is in compliance with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Unfortunately, we are unable to honor sale prices on purchases prior to an item or items going on sale.
